August 2015 Hybrid Layouts

I have finished putting the last few pages into the kids' albums.  I was pretty excited to create a Harry Potter page about their summer camp experience.  LOTS more Harry Potter pages to come in the next few months...

I used the fun Spellbound digital kit from In A Creative Bubble.

For this page I cut out a quote I found on Pinterest with my Silhouette.
Rainbow paper is Simple Stories Summer Vibes Shine and acrylic hearts are Elles Studio.

I then ran it through my new We R Memory Keepers typewriter and typed the journaling.  This was a mistake.  It didn't roll well and tore a bit.  Because I was making two of these pages, the second time I typed my journaling first, before adhering anything to the page.
I got the pink We R Memory Keepers typewriter from Michaels.  Their new Typecast line is available, but the pink typewriter is exclusive to Michaels.  I LOVE that I can change the ribbon colors.  I used teal for this layout.
I have begun new albums for the kids for the new school year (last year).  I have mixed emotions about being a year behind, it's nice to scrapbook in the current season and to have all the things from the year laid before you to see what you've got...but my memory is terrible.  Trying to keep the details in my mind and getting them documented before they fade completely is hard.  I think overall, I'm still going to try and "catch up" if only to capture the memories fresh.

This page is a mix of digital and hybrid.  The left side is all digital, and I'll print it at 12x12 and slip it in a page protector.  The right Project Life page I created the word art myself and printed the cute books element from One Little Bird's Chapters kit.
Patterned papers from One Little Bird Chapters kit, word art from Ali Edwards, and the pencil is from Fancy Pants school collection.  I created the sign.

I had her write on a journaling card because I didn't take as many pictures in her classroom.

August 2015 Calendar Pages

August 2015 Digital Layouts

I was inspired by this page made as a hybrid by Kelly Noel for One Little Bird Designs and recreated it digitally.

Paper: One Little Bird Chapters Collection;  Book Art: Scraptastic Go My Way Collection; Library Card: Sahlin Studio Project Mouse Fantasy Collection; Reading Wordart: Ali Edwards
Once again I made two layouts with small differences to personalize for their album.  This is the last page in their physical school albums!  Woohoo!  Progress!

I realized I had a ton of beach club pictures, so I incorporated them into a Project Life digital layout.  This is definitely the easiest way to get a lot of pictures into one layout.

The word art is from Paislee Press.

July 2015 Hybrid Layouts

I only had one layout for July, but because I put one in each of my kids albums, I made two copies.  They vary just slightly as I do not always have two of everything.

This is the first time I've tried stitching on my page, and I loved it.  It was quick and easy because I once again employed my silhouette machine.

I followed this tutorial at to get the holes wrapped around each letter.
Here is a closer look at the first page:
I used Echo Park's Summer Party patterned paper for the left page.  The stickers are from Simple Stories I {heart} Summer collection, and the enamel dots are from the Paper Studio.

All of the cards on these pocket pages are from Elle's Studio July kit.
The acrylic and wood veneer pieces are from Elle's Studio as well.  I fell in love with those popsicles and knew I had to include them in a little "shaker" pocket.

I didn't have a 9x12 pocket page, so I cut one I had from Becky Higgins design F and then fused the first 4x6 pocket in half.  This size is becoming increasingly popular, and I wish she'd release this size.

Disney World 6x8 Mini Travel Album - part iii | Epcot

<!--[if IE]> <![endif] Scraps of Shirlee: Disney World 6x8 Mini Travel Album - part iii | Epcot

part i - Disney Springs and the B Hotel
part ii - Hollywood Studios
part iii - Epcot
part iv - Magic Kingdom
part v - Animal Kingdom

Here is a look at the Epcot portion of my scrapbook.  I really hope that I can fit all I need to in this album (I still have MK and AK to put in it!)

I cut the dream on glitter paper with my silhouette.  It is from the Project Mouse Hand Drawn Words.  I made the Top Ten insert myself.

The back of the insert has some word stickers from PM SouvenEARS Collection and the cards on the right are from PixieSprite.

This die cut was from a PM freebie from Sahlin Studio blog that I cut with my silhouette on silver glitter paper.  I kept it transparent so that it would show through on both sides.

The cards on the left are from PixieSprite and I made the Mission Space one from internet clipart.  I used Paislee Press' 4x6 template and added some PM Tomorrow word bits to it.

The left 3x4 template is from Paislee Press and the Test Track card is PixieSprite.  I added PM Cars wordart to my photo before I printed it.

I tried to keep all of my World Showcase Countries consistent.  Each page has a flag tag I made and I folded them over on the Paislee Press 3x4 templates with a greeting in the language of the country.  I then used Paislee Press' 4x6 templates to make a collage of pictures.  All journaling cards with the Country name and art are from PixieSprite. Each country is the same so I won't repeat the links.

The lunch insert has a tag I made myself.  The template is from Paislee Press.

The Phineas and Ferb Agent P Adventure image I pulled off the internet.

I got the Duffy tag from my Disney World Scrapbook kit I picked up at Amazon.

The Duffy card is from PixieSprite and I added the PM At Night word art directly to my photo before printing.

There you have it!
