Spring is here.  For Texas that means bluebonnets instead of tulips and daffodils.  Some of you saw that I posted a few instagram pictures the weekend we went.  Each picture I took could have been a postcard they were so stunning.  Here are a few of them:

We went out two weekends in a row, because I knew that they wouldn't last long.  Chappell Hill was the best place with the most saturated fields, but all along the highways they were blooming.

UPDATE:  Whoops.  Just got my print magazine and couldn't find myself.  Apparently the magazine is offering more content online, and my layout is included in this digital version.

Sorry for the confusion.  It's new to me too!

So lately I've been getting a lot of inspiration online. I am loving the access to great products I just used to lament not being able to buy when I lived overseas. Like the new HSN Project Life kits. These guys don't ship overseas. I happily listed a portion of my kit on ebay, and the UK and Aussies are currently fighting over it. Go me.

Anyway, I love the fun Project Life and Simple Stories products. I've put them to use differently on these pages. I also gobbled up some fun quotes from Rebecca Cooper.

I snapped this picture of Ethen and put it on Instagram.  However, I knew I wanted it printed and incorporated into his album.  I used Persnickety Prints to do this -- they have lots of options for Instagram prints at great prices.  They also print 3x4 rounded corner prints (see Maya as a ballerina below).

Maya and Ethen had decided to put on a show for me.  They threw a blanket over Maya's bunk bed, and Maya started to dance.  The lighting was just right, and with my new camera, I could get the results I wanted.  Then I used the Rad Lab plugin for Photoshop to make them absolutely perfect.

Quote of the Day

"This lemonade is sensational!"
Prior to leaving on our bluebonnet road trip and after receiving her travel kit - "This is going to be the best day of my life!"
"When Ethen was a baby he was cute and not so funny.  Now that he is growing up he is [pause], he is funnier."

After I buckled him in his seatbelt, "Good job keeping your son safe today, mom."
"Mom, is vegetarian chili con carne healthy for you?"  (con carne means "with meat")
"Mom, this is gonna be epic!"
Me:  "Ethen, look at those storm clouds!"
Ethen:  "Mom, those are cumulu olympus clouds."  At least that is what I thought he said.  A few days later he brought home a craft from preschool with clouds made out of cotton balls.  Sure enough, storm clouds are called cumulonimbus.  Silly me.
