It's a Wonder...A 7th Wonder

Well, the announcement has been made public and it's official.

Growing up I always thought it would be cool to visit the Seven Wonders of the World. Today, it's hard to define what those wonders are because there are wonders of the natural world, the modern world, the underwater world, the industrial world... You get the picture.

I'm talking about the seven wonders of the ancient world. The original seven wonders. Can you name them? I couldn't. But I got the one that counts.

The pyramids at Giza.

Never in my life would I have thought that I'd be LIVING in the SHADOW of one of the wonders, much less, THE Wonder.

Yup, we're moving to Cairo, Egypt. Come October I'm going to have to shelf French (all two words I know) and pull out the Arabic. I don't even know one word. Anyone?? Anyone??

So, you have approximately one month to come visit us in Switzerland, and then it'll have to be a camel ride for you. Seriously, come visit us before it's too late. I'm dying for more company. Somehow I think our visitors are going to taper off once we cross the Med.

My mom told me when I got married I could never move east of the Mississippi River. Well, I lived right on the east bank, one mile away. Now I live on the Rhone River. Why not the Nile?

Marhaba! (Hello in Arabic)! There's one word for starters. Shukran (thank you). There's two. And let's surpass your French just for fun. Kif Halek (How are you?) Four words!

Now you just have to figure out how to say, "No I don't want to buy that" and "No I don't need a tour guide" - and you'll be able to negotiate the city pretty well! Seriously Shir - I think this is the most exciting thing! We're pumped for you guys! Just sad we never made it to Geneva. So we're going to start saving our pennies for Egypt. The Nile is beautiful.

We love you guys! And for the record, Indy has nothing on you for bravery and adventure!
