This
was my first album using a Travelers Notebook size format (4x8). I got
this one in binder form from Citrus Twist and LOVED it.
|
This is the title page. I went back and added a map to the binder because I felt the white was boring. (See below) |
I decided to add a map of DC to the inside of the album. I felt that the white was too boring. The tags are from IACB Out and About collection by Pink Paislee |
I also added gold foil stickers that I got from Michaels throughout the album to personalize it to DC. |
I also used digital 4x8 templates from Paislee Press. |
WASHINGTON MONUMENT
Although not pictured here, I went back and made this layout open out to more pictures with a pocket to hold the brochure just like I did for Lincoln and Jefferson Memorial layouts. |
MUSEUM OF AMERICAN HISTORY
THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES
I adhered a couple of postcards that I purchased in the museum store back to back since there wasn't any photography allowed of the historic documents. |
THE WHITE HOUSE
This was the end of Day 1. For photos that didn't fall into a category I switched up my format a bit, just to play with the traveler's notebook size.
JEFFERSON MEMORIAL
I created a trifold pocket to hold the brochure and love that it fits in this 4x8 travelers notebook just perfectly. |
I collected coins wherever I could for the monuments and adhered them with a glue dot. They add fun dimensionand personalization. |
FDR MEMORIAL
This brochure pocket doesn't fold out, because I didn't have that many photos. |
MLK MEMORIAL
KOREAN WAR MEMORIAL
A page to include sweet baby Devi who was a trooper in the cold. |
LINCOLN MEMORIAL
Another tri fold spread with a pocket for the brochure. |
VIETNAM VETERANS MEMORIAL
WWII MEMORIAL
CHERRY BLOSSOMS
Although we missed peak season by a couple weeks, I was happy to find a few blossoms.
NATIONAL AIR AND SPACE MUSEUM
US CAPITOL
NATIONAL MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY
And the last page....
This photo shows the maps I adhered to the inside of the album covers in better detail. |

Love this mini album! All the fold outs and custom work you did is amazing. So many awesome ideas that I can't wait to use. Thanks for sharing!
Absolutely beautiful. Reminds me of my trip to DC - didn't cover as much as you but then I was only there for a day but squeezed in a bit. Curious as to where you got the coins. Might want to pick some up on the next visit.
SandraMae,
The coins were purchased at each of the gift shops at each memorial. They were exclusive to the memorial and not all of them had one, but they were usually up on the checkout counter.
Hello! I'm working on my very first mini album (6x8) from a 2 month trip we took in 2018, which includes D.C. and Disney, among a zillion other things. I absolutely adore your D.C. album! You mentioned using digital templates from Paislee Press. Is there any chance you can send me a link because I can't seem to find them. Thank you!
I love your journal! The layouts are all so beautiful! I have a question — you mention the tags are IACB (what does that stand for?) Out and About collection by Pink Paislee. I’ve searched high and low, and haven’t been able to find them. Do you happen to know where I could find them?
Thank you,
LuAnn
LuAnn, IACB stands for In A Creative Bubble. Geralyn Sy is the creator of some fabulous digital elements. Go check her out at https://inacreativebubble.blogspot.com.
