Dad and Mom's 50th Anniversary

We had a nice family reunion this month in Arco.  It was Atomic Days weekend (the celebration of the anniversary of the first city to be lit by atomic power).  We thought that it would be a great opportunity to also celebrate my parents' 50th wedding anniversary.

The planning of the party somehow fell to me, and I had a great time preparing decorations.  My siblings helped me execute the plan and it turned out beautifully.

I painted the mason jars with chalkboard paint and then wrote on them with a chalk marker.  I put wedding pictures into another mason jar and filled it with vegetable oil to give it it the golden look.

The guests signed into a Project Life book and could write some fun sentiments. I also created this "I have loved you for 50 years" and then printed it at kinkos and adhered it to foam board.

 I created a doilie banner with pictures of them and their names.

The cake was made by Amy Bogart, a family friend.  It was delicious.  I also glittered some paper mache numbers I got from Hobby Lobby.
