Days of December 11-15

Day 11

Day 12 - I didn't take my camera to our neighborhood party.  I've sent a couple of emails to see if I can get a photo of the group that went to include on this page.

Day 13 - This is actually our second time seeing Santa this year.  The kids talked to him for a bit in the mall right after Thanksgiving.  They were a little devious and asked each Santa for a different toy.

I glittered the "merry" using some silver Stickles because the photo covered up part of the word that was printed on the paper.

Day 14

Day 15 - Wrote that "shine on" myself using my Wacom tablet.  Hard to see but the gold star is popped up to give dimension.  #soproudofmyself

Days of December 6-10

Here's the next 5 days in my Daily December album:

DAY 6

Used a silver paper doily to create a transparent look.
DAY 7

This music strip is also a transparency that shows through to the other side.
DAY 8

I got an idea to cut these stars with my Silhouette Portrait off the internet in the vast gallery of December Daily albums out there.  I've been loving looking at albums around the globe on Pinterest and also at this site:  http://www.flickr.com/groups/decemberdaily2013/

When I got these photos printed, the man at CVS thought these were copyrighted pictures.  It was a nice compliment, as I do believe my photography is improving.  But also kind of annoying, to have to explain that I'm just that awesome...:)

DAY 9

This was one of the snowflakes Noel made for the kids.  I just slipped it into a 4x6 page protector, cut off the excess plastic and stitched it in place.

Days of December 1-5

I have completed days 1-5 of my December Daily album and it feels good to have them tangible, in my hands.  Maya has already read through it all.

Each of my days is going to focus on what Christmas things we did that day, and also a place to show where Noel, our Christmas elf, decided to perch and watch the kiddos.

Day 1

A closer look at the dimension and journaling:

Day 2

I used a transparency to put my large photo of day 2 on.

Day 3

A closer look at the journaling and Ethen's precious letter to Santa:

Day 4

I used the Silhouette to cut out the word art on gold foil paper.  Then I inserted my Christmas card for day 4 to indicate that I got my cards in the mail.

Day 5

The back of my card and a closer look at day 5:

More Summer Layouts...

Still trying to tackle the July photos.   This is almost the last of them. We had a fabulous 3-day Keddington reunion where we hiked to Timp Cave.  More details about this event on Catherine's blog here.  Her family was in charge of it this year and it was marvelous.

This particular image of Ethen and Gordon I singled out.  These boys were connected the entire hike.  They held hands the whole way up; and here on the way down, they stopped for a rest.  The weariness is evident on their blank stares.  But I love that they are still stuck together, perched on the very end of a long bench.

December Daily 2013 Prep

I mentioned a few posts ago that I'm going to tackle December Daily this year as a hybrid project.  I've been having fun gathering supplies.  I've been mixing and matching all brands, but am choosing the pallet to be mostly chalkboard blacks, red, gold, stars, shine, glitz...

I chose not to buy the Studio Calico kit because I thought the price was excessive -- and I didn't love every piece of the kit.  I did include many Studio Calico items though, as I browsed around.  Here is what I have assembled to make my personal kit.

Chalkboard prints:
 Red stripes and various others:
 Gold glitter paper:
 Transparencies:
 Letter stickers:

I've chosen the Simple Stories Snap Binder to be my album.  I painted it with Martha Stewart Yellow Gold Acrylic Paint.  I got the wooden snowflake from Joann's and brushed it with Stickles gold glitter.  The banner sticker is Studio Calico and the foil numbers are American Crafts.

The first page is just a page protector filled with Studio Calico confetti and stitched shut with my sewing machine.  I also cut a word art with my silhouette that I manipulated from Ali Edwards brush files. I pieced together several different files to make it look like I wanted.

I've also had fun looking back through my past digital projects.  Gosh how I miss those precious baby faces!  You can see them here:
