Keddington Reunion

For the Keddington Reunion, we had a theme of "Olympic Games."   Sarah and Lance did an excellent job putting together meaningful and fun activities for us.  For a detailed and beautifully written narration and gorgeous pictures, visit Catherine's blog here.

Ride On

You can tell from the video that this new independence makes me nervous.  No accidents yet.  The video is too grainy to show Ethen ride straight toward her on his wiggle-waggle.  She did a good job avoiding him.

Quote of the Day

The kids have been full of words of wisdom these days.  Here are a few I managed to record:

Maya:  "Ethen, making a picture for someone who is sick is better than watching tv.  So . . . focus on your picture."

Ethen:  "Focus on the picture?  What does focus on the picture mean?"

Maya:  "It means keep your eyes off the tv and start drawing."

--------------------

Maya:   "Ethen, what's the Golden Rule?"
Ethen:  [blank stare]
Maya:  "No more eating Pez from Maya."

--------------------

Maya:   "Don't start without me Mom!!  You know how much I love cleaning the toilets!!"

**Seriously, I don't make this stuff up.**

--------------------

Ethen:  "Big boys are allergic to hard work."  (He was referring to himself as the big boy.)

--------------------

Maya:  [During her prayer]  "Bless that mommy will eat her healthy food before her chocolate..."

--------------------

Maya:  (When I "accidentally" threw away some of her school art work and had to fish it out of the garbage...)  "It's okay, Mom, you gotta just think through your brain."

Featured on ClubCK

It's always fun when you're browsing along, and whoa! ....there you are! ... a page I have created is being used for inspiration by someone else. Makes a girl feel good.

One of my London pages is featured here. http://clubcreatingkeepsakes.com/blogs/ck_community/archive/2012/09/17/scrapbooking-inspiration-september-17-2012.aspx

Ethen

Got some 3-year pictures of Ethen (a little late). Each one is super cute. He was an angel during the session, doing everything the photographer asked. She kept saying, "He is so adorable." Yeah, I know.
If anyone wants a photo of my sweet boy, just let me know. Here is a sampling...

First Day of School

The kiddos have been in school for 2 weeks now. So far so good. They are both loving it. I am loving the extra few hours to [fill in the blank]...

I asked Maya what I was going to do with all my free time, and she matter-of-factly said, "Shop, scrapbook, and sleep." She knows me too well. I guess that is what I do.

She came home the first day bounding off the school bus with only one pigtail intact. Sign of a good day or bad? She was all smiles, so I guess it's good.

Ethen is singing songs about Antarctica and Australia, so I guess he's learning something too.

*Sigh* Life is a speeding bullet train...

London Pages (and silly hats)

After all the talk of whether or not to wear a silly hat to the wedding, I totally forgot to buy one. The sheer size of Harrods overwhelmed my senses. I kick myself because I didn't have an adapter for my hair straightener and for the whole trip my hair was a lovely mess. Dave kept telling me that no one would be wearing one, and I would be the only person in a silly hat. Oh yeah?

A couple of hybrid pages. One from last summer and one from the most recent summer. Ethen's 2-year album is now complete. Yay!

Personalized Subway Art

I made some subway art using the addresses of all the places we've lived since we've been married. I printed it at Kinkos on foam board at 16x24. I love the way it turned out except the color. I really need to calibrate my monitor, but I don't know how. Colors always come back dingy and dark. But it still works. I hung it in my kitchen. Super easy and personalized.
