On a roll...

So I've been on a roll scrapbooking lately. Not just my digital pages, but I actually sat down and completed 5 unfinished layouts that have been hanging over my head for the past 6 months or so. I really do have creative moods. Sometimes I'll go weeks without any desire to scrapbook, and other days I really crank them out.

Maybe lately it's part of the "nesting" going on in my life. I'm trying to get my uncompleted projects done before the baby arrives. I am very close to having Maya's book caught up. I'm doing those pages the conventional way (not digital). Maybe I'll post a few later. I was so happy to hear that Shutterfly will ship me my pix to Switzerland at a very reasonable cost. That way I can keep up instead of letting the pictures backlog on my computer.

At any rate, here's a little glimpse into our past week...

Gift for you.

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me, Shirlee. My choice. For you.

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make.
2- What I create will be just for you.
3- It'll be done by the end of March if the baby doesn't make his appearance early.
4- You have no clue what it's going to be. It may be a story. It may be poetry or an article on properly cleaning your face before a masque. I may scrapbook something. I may bake you something and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure!

The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog. The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did it will then win a fabulous homemade gift made by me! Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it!

Valentine Delights

There is not the commercialism of Valentine's Day over here like in the US. I missed it. I thought for sure the chocolate market would go berserk, but it didn't even have any nice heart shaped boxes. Just the regular stuff. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places.

Hope everyone had a nice Valentine's Day. Here's a look at what we did:

4 things you were dying to know...

A) Four places I go to over and over:
1. Dave's work - every morning and evening
2. Co-op - a grocery store chain here that has hot dog buns.
3. Champion - a grocery store here that has hot dogs but no hot dog buns.
4. Gas station - still searching for one I can just pay at the pump so I don't have to get Maya out of the car. Come on Suisse, CREDIT CARD READER!

B) Four people who email me regularly:
1. The Houston Chronicle - do you know your link to unsubscribe is broken????
2. Fake Rolex Watches - I live in Switzerland, I don't need a knockoff.
3. Target - sigh*
4.

C) Four of my favorite places to eat:
1. Taco Bell - oh how I miss you!
2. Manora Restaurant - a buffet style place here where I can just point - no French required.
3. Los Tacos - okay, so I haven't actually eaten there, but it's Mexican right? I'll let you know my review when I actually make it to the other side of the lake to check it out.
4. Outback Steakhouse - truly my favorite place. Love the steak, love the potatoes, love the bread, love the salad (so unlike me to love salad, but have you TRIED their tangy tomato dressing????).

D) Four places I would rather be right now:
1. US - any Taco Bell will do
2. US - home
3. Mardi Gras - happy Fat Tuesday on Tuesday everyone!
4. The Houston Rodeo - missing Taylor Swift (NOT HICKS) this year. Darn.

E) Four TV shows I watch:
1. TV - oh how I wish I could understand thee (and not just BBC!!)
2. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse - iTunes is our savior
3. 24 - I wish I could watch it, but I am just patiently waiting till I can buy it I guess. Even online it says, "only available to US viewers." What???? This is the internet!! It goes everywhere!!!
4. Dora, L'Exploratrice - Dave bought her a couple french DVDs.

Week 6

I can't believe six weeks has already passed since we've arrived. Though we've had some long days, the time sure does go by quickly. We've survived another 3 days with Dave being out of town. He traveled to Zug (near Zurich) for a board meeting this week. Hopefully now things will settle a bit with his work. Now it's everyone elses' turn to relocate and we can sit back like old pros.

Finally, our stuff has reached shore!

Though we still don't have our living permit in hand, our relocation company pulled some strings to have our stuff delivered anyway. We'll probably just have to pay a fine later. Life is so much easier now that we have our goods. Not to be materialistic or anything, but I love my stuff.

Chillon

On a rare day where the sun was actually shining, Sharla and I went on a drive around Lake Geneva. It was a gorgeous drive. We stopped at this castle to take some photos.
